3 Cosmetic ingredient that can Rapidly Age your skin

Before you spend any money on skin care you need to read this:

When it comes to skin care, there's no doubt that your skin deserves the best. Well cared for skin that glows with health makes you look younger and more radiant, highlighting your best features and providing a wonderful confidence boost. Your skin is robust but it can be delicate too, changing as it ages and suffering the harshness of wind, rain, hot sun and cold winds. That's why taking good care of your skin is so important at every age.

The array of skincare products and cosmetic ingredients on the market can seem dazzling. Creams, lotions, potions, gels, masks, some that sound good enough to eat, some filled with scientific-sounding compounds. Choosing the right product to help care for and protect your skin can seem like a big decision at times. One thing's for sure though – you want to avoid putting anything on your skin that is going to damage it. Some cosmetic ingredient that top company's put in their anti-aging products can and will cause your skin in the long run to rapidly age, or can even cause harm within your body. If you want to protect and care for your skin, avoid products that include these top three toxic skincare ingredients:

Propylene Glycol

This mineral oil, produced by the fermentation of yeast and carbohydrates, can damage the structure of the skin and cause allergic reactions. Used in its various forms for everything from antifreeze to shampoo and other beauty products, propylene glycol is a toxic substance. It alters the proteins in the skin to help products penetrate deeper which not only encourages more chemicals from the products into your blood stream, but can irritate and damage your skin, too. Propylene glycol is toxic to the nervous system and has been linked with skin irritation, allergic reactions, and flare ups of conditions like eczema, and even damage to the liver and kidneys.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)

This highly toxic chemical was first supposed to be licensed as a pesticide – not really something you want to put on your skin and hair! SLS is added to beauty products because it creates a good lather – but that's not all it does. SLS damages cell membranes, leading to skin irritation and permanent thinning of the hair. SLS has also been linked with the formation of cataracts in adults and inhibited development of the eyes in children. It has corrosive properties, which are not only damaging to your skin and hair, but can cause damage to your organs when its absorbed through the skin.

Imidazolidinyl and Diazolidinyl Urea

This deadly duo of chemicals are used in cosmetics as preservatives. They also release formaldehyde, a highly toxic chemical classified as potentially causing cancer in humans by the US Environmental Agency. Formaldehyde is responsible for a long list of problems including allergic reactions, dermatitis, joint and chest pain, depression, headaches and immune dysfunction. The thought of putting products containing it on your skin and hair is not a pleasant one.

Beauty products should enhance and protect your skin and hair, not damage, age and strip it. By looking out for these three toxic chemicals and avoiding them, you're doing your skin and hair a favor and helping protect the health of the rest of your body, too. There are a lot of products on the market right now that are more natural and made without these chemicals and they're well worth the search  so read the labels – your skin will thank you.
